This month we are featuring Peter Clossick

Peter Clossick is a fascinating painter to study because his technique is both traditional and intensely personal. He works from observation, but his paintings feel raw, psychological, and tactile — almost like the paint itself is thinking. If you want to emulate his approach, it helps to understand the way he builds a painting from the inside out. Clossick paints directly from life — models, interiors, self‑portraits — but he doesn’t aim for photographic accuracy. He’s interested in how looking feels, not what the subject literally looks like.
