This month we are featuring Ormond Noonan

Drawing ,painting, modeling/carving has been with Ormond from early childhood. Something which he took to and has continued with instinctually more than professionally or intellectually.

He became somewhat more engaged with these activities during his late teens. Having turned to painting in oils, portraits, landscape ,around the Berkshire countryside, and joining evening classes he eventually took on a four year full time art course with the Byam Shaw college of Art in London.

After finishing his Diploma course he returned to landscape painting around the Berkshire and Oxfordshire. At that time, during the early 1970’s, he submitted work, which was accepted, to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions. Ormond has also done some work in etching and sculpture, and has recently joined a stone carving course.

He says he is somewhat obsessed with painting still lives of apples and lemons along side, painting a large Acanthus in his garden.
